Ndigbo in Lagos Elect Prof Anya as President

Renowned university teacher, Prof. Anya O. Anya, at the weekend, emerged President of Ndigbo in Lagos, a socio-cultural association catering for the interest of the Igbo people in Lagos and environs.

Anya, former Chairman of Nigerian Economic Summit Group, was elected unopposed by members of the organisation, parading top flight Igbo personalities in Lagos, at the Nigerian Air Force Officers Mess, Kofo Aboyomi Street, Lagos, last Friday.

Also elected, was frontline businessman and National President of South East-South South Professionals, Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, as the Deputy President. Some of the prominent members at the event included former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Alison Madueke; Chairman of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Paschal Dozie; former Chairman of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Dr. Raymond Obieri and former Chairman of Niemeth International Pharmaceuticals, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa.
