Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, Professor Akwasi Ameyaw, has condemned the plan of Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, to scrap the Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun, Ogun State.
Addressing newsmen shortly before he delivered a lecture at the third annual distinguished lecture organized by the school’s National Alumni Association in Ijebu-Ode, Ameyaw urged stakeholders in the sector to fiercely resist any attempt by the governor to scrap the institution.
It will be recalled that TASUED, which is Nigeria’s premier university of education, had been marked for scrapping by Governor Amosun with a view to being converted to an institute under the faculty of education at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, Ago-Iwoye.

We should resist it, and fiercely too,” he said.
