AUN Academy Celebrates Star Performance of Students in recent O’Level Exams

Vice President of the AUN (American University of Nigeria) Schools, Ms. Krista McKee, and Vice Principal of AUN Academy, Mr. Ashish Gill, are celebrating a stellar academic performance from the 43 students the Academy graduated in July on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination.

Ninety-five percent of the Academy students passed at distinction level in English, 93 percent in mathematics, 91 percent in economics, 100 percent in geography, and 100 percent in agricultural science. Other subjects covered include food and nutrition, visual art, and history.

“It is with great pride and happiness that we announce that 79 percent of our 43 students have passed WAEC with distinction in more than 5 subjects. Each of our students has achieved the required standards for University education,” wrote Ms. McKee in a memo announcing the students’.

Already, AUN Academy has a strong academic reputation across the country for high academic standards and a strong boarding program.

Ms. McKee attributed the Academy’s recent success to the exemplary academic leadership of Vice Principal Gill, the academic hard work and disciplined lifestyle of the students, and the commitment of the teachers and Heads of Department.

The Academy opened its doors on September 6, 2002, with the Founder H.E. Atiku Abubakar’s commitment to establishing excellent educational institutions in Yola. As the Academy continues to push students to excel at the secondary education level, it does so with the mission of becoming the best school in West Africa.
