Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Appointed Substantive Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic
Alhaji Mohammed Bello Ibrahim has been appointed the substantive Rector of the Kaduna Polytechnic.
The new rector, on assumption, said his focus will be anchored ontransparency, accountability and welfare of staff and students of the institution.
He stated this while being sworn in, even as he solicited the support and co-operation of all stakeholders in order to consolidate the task of reforming the institution.
This is just as he disclosed that innovations would be introduced to generate more revenue for the institution, and debunked insinuations of possible increase in school fees.
He informed that he is not more educated, intelligent and knowledgeable than all who have headed the institution before him, saying, “but God Almighty who has given me this opportunity along with all of us, will give us the wisdom, knowledge, good health and the ability to move Kaduna Polytechnic to a greater height,” while assuring of a meeting with stakeholders to further discuss ways of enhancing services in the polytechnic.
“In a bid to consolidate on the task of reforming this institution, I humbly call on all the staff to redouble their efforts and ignore intrigues and rumours, so that we can find solutions to whatever challenges confronting the polytechnic.”
He said, with determination, protecting and advancing the great institution, which is one of the heritages of the founding fathers is achievable. “We won’t increase student’s fees”, he assured.
Earlier in his handing over remarks, the outgoing acting rector, Dr Aliyu Mamman, urged his successor to run a transparent administration that would build trust among stakeholders of the institution. He urged him to also build on whatever records that is good during the period he piloted the affairs of the institution.
Dr Aliyu also called on staff (Academic and non academic) accord the new rector the co-operation he enjoyed while acting, saying this will further encourage him to achieve giant strides running the institution
