JAMB Approve Supplementary Admission for Five New Courses at University of Agriculture, Markudi
The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, on Friday announced the approval of supplementary admissions for five new courses at University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
This is contained in a statement issued in Bwari, Abuja, by the Public Relations Officer of JAMB, Mr Timothy Oyedeji.
Ojerinde, who made the announcement at the Council Chamber of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, said that JAMB would immediately commence the process of admissions for the new courses.
The five new courses approved for admissions in the university’s College of Management are B.Sc Marketing and Co-operatives, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Management and Entrepreneurship .
Ojerinde added that JAMB would ensure that only qualified candidates were offered admission to the five courses, thus increasing the carrying capacity of the institution.
He said that the proposed Computer-Based Testing, scheduled to take off in 2013, would entail that the university, as a e-examination centre, improves its ICT facilities to meet the required standards.
He described the proposed Computer-Based Testing as “the best thing to happen in the conduct of public examination in Nigeria”.
The five new courses approved for admissions in the University’s College of Management are B.Sc. Marketing and Co-operatives, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Daniel Vershima Uza, thanked the JAMB Registrar for the visit and commended the good working relationship between the two institutions.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the university, The Chairman of the University Council, Mr Emmanuel Toro (SAN), promised the council’s unalloyed support for the improvement of ICT facilities as required by JAMB.
