Cyprus International University Offer 50% Tuition Discount to Nigerian Students Who Excelled in WAEC Exams
Cyprus International University in Nicosia is giving 50 per cent discount on tuition fees for the 2012/2013 academic session for Nigerian students who perform well in their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) with at least 2As and 3Bs.
Already, five Nigerian students have qualified for the scholarship this year as a result of their performance in WAEC and are also interested in studying in the university.
Mr. Felix O. Adedayo is the university’s representative in Nigeria, said the school decided to give partial scholarship to students in order to encourage them, adding that some with outstanding results usually get full scholarship.
“Although we have many applicants, only five of them are qualified to benefit from the scholarship based on their results. Requirement is having 2As and 3Bs but we have full scholarship for outstanding students who have 8As in their WAEC,” he said.
He however disclosed that if any student performs excellently well in the first year and is able to maintain 3.5 grade or above, such student would be placed on full scholarship till the end of his or her study. Adedayo said report concerning Nigerian students have been encouraging with few cases of bad ones.
