Following from their surprise 5-3 away victory at Chelsea over the weekend Arsene Wenger rested hero Van Persie and started new boy Park. After over one hour of no goals to both side striker Van Persie was introduced but he couldn’t turn things around. The result leaves Arsenal top of the group with 8 points followed closely by Olympic Marseille
Chelsea 1 vs Genk 1
Chelsea back from their defeat to Arsenal during the weekend needed to win to be sure of qualifying irrespective of whatever happens in match days 5 and 6.. things looked good when Ramires put the blues ahead in the first half. Later David Luiz flopped a penalty and Mereiles hit the crossbar with a well placed shot. However Chelsea were stuck to a draw when the hosts scored in the second half.
Valencia 3 vs Bayern 1:
Valencia frog-jumped Bayern Leverkusen when they beat the Germans 3-1 to place second behind Group Leaders Chelsea.
